Operations
The HTTPS certificate is not issued.
Check that the DNS record of PUNCHIFY_DOMAIN points to the server and ports 80 and 443 are reachable from outside. Details are in docker compose logs caddy.
I forgot the admin password. Another admin sets a new one under People. If there is no other admin, contact info@punchify.app.
No emails arrive.
Check the PUNCHIFY_SMTP_* settings in .env and restart with docker compose up -d. Errors are in docker compose logs app. Each person can switch individual notifications off under Settings.
Can I run Punchify without internet? Yes, in the local network – but the installation must be able to report to the licence server daily (outgoing HTTPS only). Without a check, a notice appears after 48 hours and restricted mode after 30 days (see Licence).
How do I move to another server? See Updates and backups → Moving.
Everyday use
Someone forgot to clock. An admin adds the block under Month – with a reason. If the month is already closed, it must be reopened first (two admins).
Why is today not included in the balance? Punchify settles up to and including yesterday; the current day only counts once it is over.
A kiosk PIN is locked. After five wrong attempts the PIN is locked for 15 minutes. An admin lifts the lock by setting a new PIN under People.
How does part-time with changing days count? With a work plan "flexible weekly hours" – settled per week (see time account).
Is Punchify legally compliant? Punchify records start, end and duration of working time completely, traceably and with a tamper-evident log. The built-in checks are defaults based on German law and are not legal advice – please have them checked for your business.
